Why there is no single “dues” figure
This worksheet is based on the Labor Law issued by Royal Decree M/51 and amended by Royal Decree M/44 of 1446H, with the effective amendments in force from 19 February 2025. Source 1 Source 2 Source 3
The law does not turn everything that may surround an employment exit into one formula. EOSB has its own provisions and inputs; Article 77 compensation has separate conditions; Article 75 notice depends on an indefinite contract, wage frequency, and ending party, while Articles 74 and 79 bis separately govern resignation. Overtime uses hours, a work period, and its own wage basis. Source 4
The worksheet therefore presents four cards and creates no sum between them. A number means only that the card's defined input gates passed—not that all cards are due or can be combined in one claim.
| Card | What it shows | What it does not decide |
|---|---|---|
| End-of-service benefit | An estimate from service length and the selected exit description | Disputed classification or validity of the exit ground |
| Article 77 | The formula on an express applicability assumption after checking the contract term | Unlawfulness or entitlement |
| Notice | Article 75 days for the confirmed employer-termination route | Notice pay, an end date, or the resignation route |
| Overtime | The formula for entered hours in a separate period | Proof that the hours were worked or automatic addition to another figure |
1. End-of-service benefit card
Article 84 sets the EOSB basis at half a month's wage for each of the first five years and a month's wage for each later year, using the last wage and prorating parts of a year. Source 5
Article 85 sets tiers when the employment relationship ends because of resignation, while Articles 80, 81, and 87 address other descriptions that can change the result. Article 88 also sets settlement periods: one week when the employer ends the relationship and two weeks when the worker does. Source 6
M/44 added a statutory Article 2 definition of resignation for a worker’s written, uncoerced, and unconditional request to end a fixed-term contract, with employer acceptance. Article 74(3 bis) lists resignation separately, and Article 79 bis governs the request and its effects. The worksheet therefore stops when the contract type is unknown or indefinite, and runs the Article 85 tier for a fixed-term contract only after the user confirms completion facts, no effective withdrawal, and an end date matching that event. Source 7 Source 8
The worksheet does not decide that Article 80, Article 81, or probation applies. Articles 53 and 54 address probation and the effect of ending during it; if a selected Article 80 or probation description would yield zero, the card requires a separate acknowledgment that the user is requesting a hypothetical result rather than a legal classification. Source 9
The card stops for mutual agreement instead of applying a general assumption about the agreement's effect. It also stops an “expiry” selection unless a fixed term is confirmed. These are tool safeguards; an automatic number does not replace review of the agreement wording or contract type.
2. Article 77 formula card
Where Article 77 applies and the contract does not specify compensation for termination for an unlawful reason, the article sets fifteen days' wage per service year for an indefinite contract or the wage for the remaining term of a fixed contract, subject to a floor of two months' wage. Source 10
The worksheet opens this card only after “employer termination” is selected, and that selection alone is not enough. The user must check the contract, expressly assume Article 77 applies, and confirm a fixed actual monthly wage and the default month basis. Article 2 defines actual wage and the default month, while Article 96 provides an averaging rule for certain variable-pay forms; the card stops rather than guessing an average. Source 11
For an indefinite contract, the card also stops when service includes months or days beyond the entered whole years. It does not round down or discard the partial year.
3. Notice-period card
For an indefinite contract, Article 75 sets 60 days when wages are monthly and the employer ends the relationship, and 30 days when the worker ends it. When wages are not monthly, the period is 30 days for either party, within the article's legitimate-reason termination route. Source 12
The card shows days only for the employer-termination route, after a separate confirmation that the user wants the table on the assumptions of an indefinite contract and a legitimate reason. That confirmation does not establish the reason's legitimacy. The card does not automatically apply the table to a fixed contract or calculate notice pay, time remaining, or a final date. Source 13
M/44 defines resignation in Article 2 around a fixed-term contract, lists it separately in Article 74(3 bis), and governs the request and its effects in Article 79 bis. Article 75 separately governs legitimate-reason termination of an indefinite contract by either party. The worksheet therefore does not classify a “worker resignation” selection automatically into either route. It also stops for the Article 81 path because the worksheet does not assume that individual facts satisfy that article. Source 14 Source 15
4. Overtime card
Article 107 states that overtime pay per hour equals the hourly wage plus 50% of the basic hourly wage. Article 98 provides the general normal-hours rule and reduced Ramadan hours for Muslim workers, so this card stops if the user cannot confirm the schedule basis used by this version. Source 16
The card requests basic wage, actual wage, and hours for its own period. It does not automatically reuse the shared exit wage because the overtime period and its wage records may differ. It also does not prove that the entered hours were worked.
Useful sharing without exposing figures
Public sharing sends the worksheet link and a generic message that helps another person separate the calculations. It does not place wages, dates, or the exit description in the URL or share text. A wage-derived result image is created on-device only after a separate confirmation inside its card. This lets users share the method safely and decide for themselves whether to share a particular figure.
